Is this your first time getting a massage?

Nothing to fear. Here’s what to expect:

Rocky will want to get to know you better by asking questions about your current physical condition, medical history, stress level, specific areas of pain, and your expectations for the massage session.

Then he will allow you privacy to disrobe. Only take off as much as you are comfortable removing. Consider removing jewelry and any other articles that might interfere with the massage. Next, you will lie flat on the padded massage table, covering yourself with comfortable linens. Rocky respects your modesty throughout the session.

Expect a peaceful and comfortable environment for your massage. Music often plays in the background but let Rocky know if you prefer quiet. Communication is essential for a successful therapy session and Rocky will work to ensure your comfort and understanding of massage therapy. Please let him know if you are uncomfortable or have any questions. Sessions often run 30, 60 or 90 minutes.

Rocky will ask about YOU. He will learn about your needs and personalize a massage therapy just for you. He may incorporate a number of massage modalities suited to your needs for that day. Some of the most popular types of massage are Swedish Massage, Sports Massage and Trigger Point Release Therapy.

Swedish Massage Therapy

This is a common, gentle and relaxing type of massage therapy. Rocky may use light to firm pressure on a range of long, smooth strokes, while kneading more superficial layers of muscles, combined with active and passive movements of the joints.

Sports Massage Therapy

Sports Massage is designed for physically active people. The focus is more on preventing and treating injuries, even enhancing athletic performance. It involves long strokes and facilitate stretching to loosen and flush out the toxins that causes soreness in the muscles and joints.

Trigger Point Release Therapy

Not to be confused with pressure point massage, Trigger Point Release Therapy involves deactivating, by ischemic compression, the trigger points that may be causing local or referred pain and other sensations, such as headaches, in other areas of the body.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is an effective hands-on technique of applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue, which eliminates pain and restores motion.

Reiki (Energy Work)

Reiki therapy employs hands-on, no-touch, and visualization techniques, with the goal of improving the flow of life energy in a person. It is used in much the same way to achieve similar effects of traditional massage therapy — to relieve stress and pain and to improve the symptoms of various health conditions.


Meaning “masseur, masseuse” in Polynesian, lomilomi is the modern term to describe Hawaiian massage. Traditionally this message technique uses the palm of hands, knees, elbows, etc. to rub, press, squeeze, work in and work out, much like a kneading cat. This is a holistic healing tradition.
